A very interesting post.

The difficulty is that often people want something in particular...like this post re: blogging but that is just a tailored search for today and I don't want to read about that topic from you blog once I visit again...well not for a while anyway!

Tomorrow I would like to read something about tech, the day after something re: general life etc to keep interested.

It's hard to pigeon hole the audience.

But...I am not alone as I have discussed with 'others' like myself and we ALL seem to read the comments!

You know, that is often the most interesting part of a blog.

Blogger makes X statement (hopefully stirs up controversy) and comments go crazy...this is the fun interactive part that gets the blogger responding and the commenter’s coming back to comment on others comments about their comments. It's a mosh pit of commenting frenzy.

Not easy to do but it'll get readers back!

I agree that you should smile, smile, smile... but it's truly very hard to keep up a smile in the midst of a crappy life.

I mean I try smiling at people, but people automatically tend to dislike me because of the way I look (stylish hair makes guys dislike you, being buff makes guys jealous of you, beaming smiles make people jealous that they can't be as good as you)

If everyone could try faking their personality, then the world would be a much nicer place, haha.

BTW: it seems to me that the more I try to fake happiness, the happier I get. Everyone should try it :)

Very enlightening post. Much better thought out than most of the "Submit your blog to blog directories!" posts I've found.

Wow. I have to say this is the most helpful piece (or rather, anthology) of information on promoting your blog I've stumbled upon in the past three hours I've been searching the web. I've reached the point of desperation and I have to say my outlook has greatly improved after reading this blog. Thanks a bunch!

I also subscribed to your feed, which is a pretty rare occurrence. Love the blog (and the design). You've done a great job, and it's awesome to see someone who practices what they preach!

Thanks. This posted helped a lot. You brought up a ton of good points. Something I tried that is bringing in readers is taking a few snapshots of my blog and posting it onto YouTube. Oddly enough people come and check it out. I get private messages from people saying that they loved the idea and will check my blog out. So thank you. I am sure this will make a diffrence. I'll try commenting on more blogs.

I think that this post and the one about Lackluster days are interconnected. It is great to have daily goals, and I definately keep a set of records through the day when I achieve them ie. 1000 words written, 5km walked, 5 sales calls made etc.

But the important things is to have understanding that somedays energy levels or external circumstances dicate that you are not going to achieve them. When this happens i don't despair, it just just strenghtens my resolve to do more the next day

Actions speach louder than words... We all know this famous saying, byt do we really understand what it means? No matter how many times we say something, it's the action that really counts.
Have you ever siad at one stage of your life,"I want to become a good person", or something along those lines. How many time have you said that? How many times did you bother to do something about it? Are you that good person youu want to be now?
A classic example... Most of us wnat tot do something about climate change. Almost everywhere we go there is something to do with it. We see a poster or something and think, oh yeah, i gotta rememeber to do that next time, what when your chance comes, it conveniently slips your mind.
My point is, most of us don't actually take action, so if you want to do something, don't wait until tomorrow, do it today and take ACTION!!!!!!
