A Formal Introduction to this Blog

When I was younger, I loathed dress up affairs. Oddly enough I’m quite the opposite now, but back then I always thought to myself “Who really cares enough to dress up to see people you already know? They don’t care what you look like!”
In a way, I’m was almost like that with this blog.”Why do I really care to show off this blog? Everybody knows what a personal development blog is!” And, let’s be honest, I did think that… for about 15 minutes. Then the realization of the century hit me - this blog *isn’t* like any other blog out there. It’s completely different, unique, amazing, and should be shared with as many people as possible (No, that’s not my ego talking for me!)
I know exactly what you’re thinking. How is this blog so different?
- The content will be humorous and straight to the point. Personally, I have the attention span of a gnat. I’ll be surprised if I can get through this post without being distracted three times! Whenever I’m explaining something to somebody else, I always automatically assume they have the same attention span as me, so I cut out all of the fluff and get straight to the fine points.
- The content will be unique. Yeah, we all know what they say in the “blogosphere” (which, by the way, I’ve always found to be a funny word… moving on!) “Create unique content!” Truth be told, the content on this website will be totally unique. While the topics I visit might be the tried and true hallmarks of personal development and self-help - time management skills, tips on productivity, novel ways of tackling problems, and so on - my solutions won’t be. I speak from experience, not from what I read. 99% of the time, I test out my ideas before I pass them on to other people.
- You’ll want to share what you read on this website with others. I want this website to be for everybody. Too often I’ll read some boring, bland post on a personal development website and think to myself, “My god, this content can be prescribed as a sleep aid!” Honestly, who wants to read posts like that? I don’t. You should want to share what you read here with your family, friends, coworkers, and so on, after you’re done reading a post on this site.
I think that covers it. Maybe this wasn’t such the formal introduction I was planning, but I hope you certainly noticed how I was dressed! =)
(And by the way, I made it through this entire post without being distracted. Score one for me!)
